Five Under Thirty Five: Emerging Artists

Chestertown RiverArts is pleased to present Five Under Thirty Five: Emerging Artists, a group exhibition of the work of five female artists under the age of thirty five on exhibit throughout the month of February.  The exhibit opens First Friday, February 3. and  features works by:

Amanda Hagerman, metalsmith specializing in fine jewelry. Hagerman creates bold, yet sophisticated jewelry pieces.  Rock-like surfaces mimic uneven ridges of the landscape are applied to carefully composed geometric shapes creating contemporary, yet timeless wearable works of art.  http://www.amandahagermanjewelry.com/


Emma Sovich, poet, book arts and letterpress artist.  Sovich writes and curates what she calls “poetry with a pulse” and breathes life into these works through papermaking, letterpress and hand-bound books. http://www.emmasovich.com/


Andrea Hearn, photographer.  Hearn’s work as a multimedia artist and videographer endows her photographic work with a compositional elegance and cinematic informality that invites the viewer into sweeping landscapes and bustling street-scenes that her work takes her to. http://www.andreahearnphotography.com


Morgan Moos, photographer.  Moos’ work offers an intimate and paradoxical view of the world by capturing scenes which portray both delicacy and strength in both nature and portraiture.


Raven Bishop, art educator and creative consultant.  Bishop’s artistic practice is intentionally varied and experimental to inspire and fuel her work in the classroom and community. In this exhibit are recent works in abstract painting and sculptural ephemera.  Bishop is also the curator of this exhibit.  http://www.ravendbishop.com/works

“35/5” offers the viewer insight into the creative lives of 5 talented 21st century artists as each endeavors to make art a part of her daily practice.
