Annual Appeal 2015

Annual Appeal 2015

Dear Friend of RiverArts,

Whats vibrant, full of color and exploding with creativity, culture and excitement?

Its no surprise—Chestertown RiverArts!

RiverArts continues to grow, extending our reach far beyond our Gallery walls, fulfilling a vital role in our community.   In the past year alone, we

  • hired a new executive director
  • spearheaded RiverFest, a new, extremely successful waterfront event
  • co-sponsored the Arts and Entertainment District designation for Chestertown
  • expanded our KidSPOT creativity center to reach 1000 kids and their families
  • moved Clay Studio to its new in-town location
  • sponsored the 16th annual Studio Tour, and the 6th annual Paint the Town
  • staged eighteen exhibitions, nine special events, and dozens of art and art appreciation classes
  • developed and ran a very successful RiverArts Camp summer program
  • garnered national recognition with a feature in the American Craft Council magazine
  • partnered with the Town of Chestertown to select the first work of public art under the NEA Our Town grant
  • regularly partner with Washington College’s SANDBOX, C.V. Starr Center for the American Experience, the Kent County Historical Society, Kent County Public Schools and Sumner Hall

And none of this could have happened without your support!

We hope you will help us continue bringing quality events and programming to our community. If you have enjoyed time in our KidSPOT Creativity Center, enjoyed our gallery shows and First Friday receptions, or visited our member artists on our annual Studio Tour, we hope you’ll consider contributing. If you enjoyed RiverFest, Paint the Town, or Art in Bloom, we hope you’ll help us continue to provide that level of excellent programming. If you have taken a class, or your child participated in RiverArts Summer Camp, or you have enjoyed one of our guest lectures or workshops, we hope you’ll show your support.

Our theme for 2016 is Humans of Kent County, which will showcase the personality and character of the community through photographs, paintings and stories. RiverArts will share these photographs and stories on a Humans of Kent County blog and will stage Humans of Kent County exhibitions that begin in the gallery and move to venues around the county to build a sense of community.

Please consider increasing your financial support of RiverArts so we can increase our programming for children and adults in the gallery, at KidSPOT, at our High Street Clay Studio and at other area arts venues. A donation of

$1000 or more entitles you to become part of our Visionary Circle and enjoy special benefits including pre-sale of tickets for limited events and programs just for Visionaries. You also receive a leaf on our giving tree memorializing your gift in your name or in honor of someone else.

Please take a moment now to make your annual donation. We are very grateful for your friendship, your enthusiasm and your continuing support.
