The best camera for taking photos is the one that you always have with you. Photographing with a mobile device adds a level of convenience, flexibility, and spontaneity to the photographic process. This 4-week class will provide a solid introduction to using the iPhone/iPad as a creative tool for editing photos. During each class, we will examine a different app or technique, and then have a week to practice before the introduction of the next app. A list of apps will be provided to participants so that they may be downloaded in time for the first class.
Anne Highfield, a resident of Chestertown and an elementary school teacher, fuels her creative spirit by exploring the process of capturing and editing photos with her iPhone. Her images have been featured on various iPhoneography websites such as The App Whisperer, iPhoneography Central, and Art of Mob. Anne also earned Honorable Mention for two of her images in the category of Still Life in the 2013 Mobile Photography Awards. Most recently, one of Anne’s images was selected for display in the Pocket Vista Exhibit, which took place at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Center in Collingwood, Ontario from September 3-28, 2014. Anne’s earnest desire is to build a community of iPhoneographers right here in Chestertown.
