Beginners Pottery on the Wheel

Cost: $230 Members, $280 Non-members

This course offers new students an 8-week introduction to the potter’s wheel. Participants will experience basic methods of centering clay, forming cylinder and bowl forms, trimming and adding handles.
Students will also learn how to finish their pots using standard decorating and glazing techniques. This class is for students with no prior wheel experience, all are welcome. Course fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and bisque firing, glaze firing fees are additional.
Fees: Class includes one block of clay and bisque firing. Additional fees for glaze firing. Tool kits can be purchased at the studio for $25.
About the Instructor: Rick Bisgyer has been a full time ceramic artist for the last 12 years. He holds a degree in Education and has been teaching both at Chestertown RiverArts and Baltimore Clayworks for the past 4 years. His work was been displayed at national and regional fine craft shows and galleries across the country.
