Make Your Own Mardi Gras at RiverArts
Join in Chestertown’s community-wide Mardi Gras celebration by making your own mask at RiverArts. On Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1.
Everyone is invited to have fun releasing their ‘inner child’ with Theresa Schram, local artist and teacher at Kent School. Theresa’s vibrant and playful oil paintings have been exhibited several times in the RiverArts Gallery, as well as galleries in Easton, St. Michael’s, Annapolis, Parole, and Wye Mills. She has been painting for 20 years, having received her Fine Arts degree from Salisbury University.
This two-part workshop will be given from 11:00 AM to 3 PM on Friday, and 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at the RiverArts Gallery. Cost is $45.00 per person. If masks aren’t your thing, Theresa will also help in the creation of mini parade floats and dioramas of the Big Easy. Basic supplies such as paper mache, paint, brushes, glue, feathers, beads, and cardboard will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring in personal treasures like old jewelry, bits of used costumes, ribbons, netting, miniature action figures, or anything else you can think of to make your creation more exciting.
