They say, “Into every life a little rain must fall.” But we also see the sun return and bring blooms to the flowers. Life’s challenges can lead to new and wonderful things. We encourage members to submit works that represent overcoming adversity or a change in direction. This could be a change in art medium or a change in lifestyle. It could be overcoming a loss or other unexpected change. How did overcoming an obstacle manifest itself in your art? How did you move forward to a new place artistically? Perhaps it is a piece that was created out of a moment of change or a thesis. We welcome ideas of all kinds that relate to this theme.
Any medium is welcome including but not limited to painting, photography, sculpture, kinetic, or audio/visual. Literal, conceptual, or pieces conceived or created at a time of overcoming adversity are encouraged. Artists are welcome to submit a statement, or to let the work speak for itself. For additional information or with questions, please contact curator Sherrie von Sternberg at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest in participating in a RiverArts Gallery Exhibition. Hanging fees for regular exhibitions are $10 per piece for members, $20 for non-members. Artists must agree to the following when submitting work to be entered in a RiverArts Gallery Exhibition.
