Fiber Art Wins People’s Choice Award for September Fine Craft Show
Downtown Chestertown was hopping for September’s First Friday – a combination of the holiday weekend, Washington
College students back in town, and perhaps folks celebrating the fact that Hermine decided to spin off the east coast.
RiverArts clicked in 540 guests to view the new Fine Craft exhibit, Handmade in America, most of whom participated in voting for the People’s Choice Award.
Fiber Art was very popular; Betty Kerr’s Celtic Runner received the most votes, runners up were Christine Kamon for her quilt, Happy Hydrangeas, and Alice Pickett Lewis, for her work, Meadow.
The show represents a wide cross section of the region’s exceptionally skilled and creative
artists’ work: wearable art, fiber art, wood,
ceramics, glass and metal.
The exhibition and sale will be up
through the month of September.
