Have you ever been amazed to see someone at the potter’s wheel creating something beautiful from a lump of clay? This class is for beginning pottery students with little or no wheel experience, and those who have taken introductory wheel classes and wish to have more instruction. Students will be working with stoneware clay. They will learn the fundamental techniques of preparing clay, throwing on the wheel, trimming, and glazing a piece, creating a finished decorative or functional pot. Amaze yourself with what you can create!

Tuition includes 8 Open Studio tickets, your first 25 lbs. of clay, and bisque firing, a light firing to prepare pots for glazing. There is a fee, dependent on the size of your piece, for subsequent glaze firings. Beginner toolkits are available for purchase during the first class meeting for $30. Standard 226 or Little Loafers clay is available for an additional $3, and porcelain clay is available for an additional $10.

On vacation and worried about missing a class or two? No worries!! You can make up during our Tuesday morning classes (10am – 12:30pm). Please give advance notice; first come, first served. Different instructor — different perspective on teaching!
