Seeing Color as Value with Linda Hall
Learn why ‘value does the work, color gets the credit’ in successful paintings. Linda will demonstrate the differences between color and value and show students why careful use of value changes is necessary to bring a painting to life.
Students will need:
140 lb watercolor paper or heavy multimedia sketch paper, at least 8” x 10”
ultramarine and burnt sienna watercolor paint
#8 watercolor brush or larger
2B graphite pencil or grey scale magic markers
a color photo, and a black and white Xerox copy of the same photo
Saturday, February 22 from 10:00 to 3:00 at RiverArts Gallery on High Street. $65.00 for members and $80.00 for nonmembers. Bring a bagged lunch.
